US sweeps Canada to earn trip to London

LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) — The U.S. men’s volleyball team is headed back to the Olympics.

The defending gold medalists punched their ticket to London on Saturday night by sweeping Canada (28-26, 25-18, 25-20) in the NORCECA Olympic qualification tournament at the Walter Pyramid.

Captain Clay Stanley had 15 points for the sixth-ranked United States.

Cuba, No. 5 in the world, swept Puerto Rico (25-20, 25-21, 25-15) in the bronze medal match in the continental event.
