EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Sheriff’s detectives in Snohomish County are investigating the death of a 57-year-old Arlington, Wash., man who told hospital personnel he had been involved in a recent fight.

The Snohomish County medical examiner’s office says John L. Oster died Wednesday evening at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Despite an autopsy, the sheriff’s office says the cause and manner of his death have not yet been determined.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton says Oster reportedly told staffers at a local hospital where he was initially treated that he had been involved in a fight several hours before. He was unable to talk to detectives.
