Sterling Gibbs transfers from Texas to Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) — Point guard Sterling Gibbs has transferred from Texas to Seton Hall.

Pirates coach Kevin Willard announced Monday that the former Seton Hall Prep star would be returning to New Jersey.

The brother of recent Pittsburgh graduate Ashton Gibbs, Sterling Gibbs averaged 2.6 points and 7.5 minutes in 30 games for the Longhorns. He had a career-high 14 points against Nicholls State on Dec. 13.

Seton Hall went 21-13 last season and made the NIT.
