TERRACE HEIGHTS, Wash. (AP) — Family members say an 18-month-old boy was out of sight for just a minute at a Terrace Heights home when he went missing.

They searched the homes and surrounding homes Saturday before calling 911.

The Yakima County sheriff’s office says firefighters found the body of Tanner Morrison in an irrigation canal about 100 yards from the home.

Yakima Herald-Republic reports (http://is.gd/F7bQeq ) attempts to revive the boy failed and he died at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
