SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane police say a body found by children playing in a wooded area is that of a 20-year-old woman reported missing by relatives more than a month ago.

Officer Jennifer DeRuwe (De-ROO) said Tuesday that after an autopsy the medical examiner’s office identified the body as Kala Williams. The spokeswoman says the death appears to be a homicide.

The body was found Sunday. Detectives and forensic specialists spent hours processing the scene.
