JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Maurice Jones-Drew is a no-show again.

The Jacksonville Jaguars running back is skipping organized team activities, which began Tuesday.

Since the workouts are voluntary and Jones-Drew has stayed away before, it’s not a huge concern. But the Jaguars would like to have their best offensive player in attendance to get acquainted with a new coaching staff and new playbook.

Jones-Drew’s absence could be related to his contract. He is scheduled to make $4.45 million this season, considerably less than other top tailbacks like Chris Johnson, Arian Foster and Marshawn Lynch.

Jones-Drew led the NFL in rushing last season, gaining 1,606 yards for the league’s worst offense and making his third consecutive Pro Bowl. He has two years remaining on a five-year deal worth $31 million that he signed in 2009.
