Car crashes in natural gas line at Scappoose

SCAPPOOSE, Ore. (AP) — A car crashed into a natural gas line at Scappoose, sparking a grass fire.

The Oregonian reports (http://is.gd/RekUts) homes and businesses within a half-mile were evacuated Tuesday evening while firefighters controlled the grass fire and utility crews repaired the line.

Highway 30 was shut down for several hours.
