IRVINE, Calif. (AP) — Maloof Skateboarding has agreed to a three-year contract extension to bring the Maloof Money Cup World Skateboarding Championships to Kimberley, South Africa, through 2015.
The deal with the Northern Cape Provincial Government comes after Maloof Skateboarding staged a successful contest last fall on a custom-built skate park built near the “The Big Hole,” a former diamond mine.
This year’s South Africa contest will be Sept. 28-30.
Joe Maloof, one of the brothers who own the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, says there won’t be any Maloof Money Cup contests in the United States this year.
