PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Portland firefighters responded late Wednesday afternoon to a large fire at a condominium complex in the southwest part of the city. A Portland Fire Bureau spokesman says two firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion and minor burns.

At one point, a live television image showed one firefighter falling through a roof. Fire spokesman Paul Corah says firefighter Curt Summer fell about four feet, landed on rafters and is fine.

Corah says paramedics treated a number of other people for smoke inhalation.

The fire was contained to one three-story building, which was ablaze when fire crews arrived.

The Oregonian reports that at least six units were destroyed by the fire, which is under investigation.
