BEND, Ore. (AP) — The Deer Ridge Correctional Institution is running on temporary power because of an electrical problem.

The Bend Bulletin reports (http://is.gd/MdxrNo ) that inmates at the Madras prison may be transferred from the minimum-security facility to an unopened medium-security wing until the problem is solved.

The Oregon Department of Corrections says there is no safety risk to staff or to inmates.
