The Clark County Skills Center began registration for its summer 2012 session for students now in grades 8-11. Classes are June 25-July 17. The classes are free, except for possible $10-$25 lab fees in some classes. Students can earn one-half of a high school elective credit for successfully completing a summer school class.

The Skills Center is at 12200 N.E. 28th St. Classes offered include basic car maintenance, carpentry basics, health careers and Web page design.

Off-campus classes include renewable resources at the Columbia Springs Environmental Education Center on Southeast Evergreen Highway, careers in aviation at Pearson Air Museum and small-engine operation and repair at Evergreen High School.

Registration forms are available from high school counselors and become available at the Skills Center on Friday. Registration is first-come, first-served. Students and parents are responsible for transportation.

For more information, contact the Skills Center Summer School registrar at 360-604-1050, any high school counselor or go to Skills Center.
