Colorado Rapids re-sign Cummings to multiyear deal

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) — The Colorado Rapids have re-signed forward Omar Cummings to a multiyear contract.

Cummings is a member of the Jamaican national team and is in his sixth season with the Rapids.

The 29-year-old Cummings has 36 goals and 26 assists in 130 regular-season games for Colorado since joining the club out of the University of Cincinnati in 2007.

He had a team-high 14 goals in 2010, when the Rapids won the MLS Cup. He was an MLS All-Star in 2011.

Colorado announced the contract on Friday.
