Volcanoes drop third straight

The Vancouver Volcanoes losing streak reached three games Friday with a 133-124 International Basketball League loss to the Salem Soldiers at The Hoop in Salem.

Andre Murray scored 29 points to lead Vancouver (4-3). Dominique Watson had 22 points, and Alex Hartman 17. Calvin Hampton had a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds.

Salem (2-2) had a 63-59 lead at the half and outscored Vancouver 40-28 in the third quarter to pull away.

These same two teams meet again at 5 p.m. Sunday at Prairie High School.
