American Idol contestant Britnee Kellogg will sing the national anthem at 9:30 a.m. today to kick off the American Heart Association’s Heart & Stroke Walk at Vancouver Landing, along the Columbia River downstream of the Interstate 5 Bridge and upstream of the railroad bridge.

Vancouver-based Nautilus Inc. is co-sponsoring the event as part of a company program to help employees adopt healthier life choices. The annual walk raises money to fight heart disease and stroke, America’s No. 1 and No. 4 killers, respectively, according to the association.
