HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — Kenny Cooper scored in the 56th minute to lift the New York Red Bulls to a 1-1 draw with Chivas USA on Wednesday night.

Former Red Bulls star Juan Pablo Angel scored in the 47th minute for Chivas USA (4-6-2). Angel, who holds New York’s all-time goal-scoring record (58), was playing against his former team for the first time.

Cooper’s goal was his 11th of the season — tying San Jose’s Chris Wondolowski for the MLS lead — for the Eastern Conference-leading Red Bulls (8-3-2). New York extended its unbeaten streak to six matches (5-0-1) and remained unbeaten at home (4-0-2).
