Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is hosting its annual Healthy Kids Fair in June.

The fair is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9 at the hospital, 2211 N.E. 139th St. The event and parking are free.

For the first time, the Salmon Creek Farmers Market will join the fair, allowing visitors to purchase plant starts and fresh produce.

The event will also include a helmet sale ($5 bike helmets, $20 snowboard helmets) and fittings, child safety seat checks and recycling for old seats, face painting and “Germ City” hand-hygiene exhibit.

Ambulances, a fire-safety house and Legacy’s surgical robots will be on display. And Suzi Surgi-Duck will give kids the opportunity to perform “operations” on a stuffed duck.

For the second year, the hospital will hold a food drive to benefit families and children served by the Children’s Center. Staples liked peanut butter, tuna, canned meat, pasta and sauce, rice and beans are most needed.
