SEATTLE (AP) — The Los Angeles Angels have designated for assignment reliever David Pauley and recalled infielder Andrew Romine from Triple-A Salt Lake.

The Angels made the roster moves on Thursday ahead of their series opener in Seattle.

Pauley had appeared in just four games since his contract was purchased from Salt Lake on May 7. Pauley was 0-1 with a 4.82 ERA and was deemed expendable because the Angels were carrying 13 pitchers on their roster.

Romine was hitting .312 with two homers and 17 RBIs in 40 games at Salt Lake.
