NEW YORK (AP) — Triple Crown contender I’ll Have Another returned to the track for the first time since winning the Preakness with a jog around Belmont Park’s 1 1-2-mile oval Wednesday.

The colt arrived in New York on Sunday to begin preparations for the Belmont Stakes on June 9, when he will try to become horse racing’s 12th Triple Crown winner. Meanwhile, trainer Doug O’Neill and jockey Mario Gutierrez were in Los Angeles. O’Neill is expected to arrive in New York this weekend.

O’Neill’s assistant, Jack Sisterson, says I’ll Have Another “looked absolutely super.” He says the colt’s energy level was high and he’s been eating up all of his feed.

He says I’ll Have Another would likely jog again Thursday and have his first gallop on Friday.
