Bingen — Insitu, based in Bingen, announced Wednesday that its ScanEagle unmanned aircraft system has exceeded 600,000 combat flight hours while maintaining a 99 percent mission-readiness rate.

The company also said it has produced 1,400 ScanEagle aircraft in eight years of rapid innovation in the field of unmanned aircraft, commonly called drones. Its modular ScanEagle can be reconfigured in the field to suit the mission, and earlier models can be updated with advancements that have dramatically improved imagery, operational security, training and airspace safety, the company said.
