SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A high school in Salem has been evacuated after a device that apparently was in a plastic bottle exploded in a garbage can.

The Salem Statesman Journal reports (http://stjr.nl/JfLwkG ) students were calling it a dry-ice bomb

A spokesman for the Salem-Keizer district says there was a loud noise Thursday morning at Sprague High School, but nobody was hurt.

Students were being sent home so the building could be searched.

The garbage can was in the lobby near the gym.
