RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Firefighters who put out a fire Friday morning at a Renton home found the body of a teenage girl inside.

Deputy Chief Erik Wallgren says police are leading the investigation into her death. He says she was the only person in the house.

Wallgren says the fire was reported just before 8 a.m. with smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story home.

He says attempts to revive the girl were unsuccessful.

Firefighters rescued a dog they found inside the house.
