MOUNT RAINIER, Wash. (AP) — The state Transportation Department has reopened Chinook Pass on Highway 410 on the east side of Mount Rainier.

Road crews completed avalanche control and finished clearing snow Friday to make their goal of opening the pass for the Memorial Day weekend.

After the North Cascades Highway and Cayuse Pass, Chinook is the last of three Washington mountain passes to reopen after their winter closure.
