MOXEE, Wash. (AP) — Police say a Washington couple have been arrested after acknowledging they provided methamphetamine and marijuana to teenagers in their care.

Authorities in Moxee, outside Yakima, say a 15-year-old runaway told them her guardians had supplied meth and allowed her to use it. She also said a 13-year-old boy living in the home was given marijuana.

The teens have been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services along with a 6-year-old who also was living in the home.

Police have referred the case to prosecutors and recommended child endangerment and drug charges against the 30-year-old man and 34-year-old woman. They were not identified.

Moxee Police Sgt. Mark Lewis says the 6-year-old is the couple’s child, the 13-year-old is the woman’s son from a previous relationship and the oldest girl was placed in the couple’s care by her biological mother, who hasn’t been located.
