Letter: Dog bites rise with breed popularity

The Columbian
Published: May 27, 2012, 5:00pm

When will these dog owners wise up? In 2011, insurance companies paid $479 million in liability payments to dog-bite claims, mostly to kids, seniors and postal carriers. Studies find pit bulls are most dangerous and that the popularity of pit bulls in the U.S. contributes to an increase in bites. Must be a lot of people out there not thinking clearly. Who would want a pit bull?
