A memorial to the merchant seamen who served in World War II will be dedicated Wednesday at the Vancouver campus of the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

The dedication will be at 10 a.m. in the gym (building 14) at the south end of POW/MIA Road, near the Vietnam Memorial Garden.

The Vancouver chapter of the Cascade Mariners and the Oregon chapters of the American Merchant Marine Veterans donated the monument.

The Vancouver VA site, which shares a campus with the Clark County Center for Community Health, can be accessed via Fourth Plain Boulevard or Fort Vancouver Way.
