The Southwest Regional SWAT Team was called at 11:48 p.m. Sunday to a report of domestic violence at a unit in the Regency Apartments, 11301 S.E. 10th St.

Sgt. Kathy McNicholas said there was an argument between a woman and man. The woman left to call police. She was not harmed.

After a shot was heard, about 10 officers responded, including five on the SWAT Team.

Getting no response from the man in the apartment, officers employed a robot and had a Bearcat armored vehicle on the scene, McNicholas said.

Finally, at 3:22 a.m. Monday, officers entered the apartment and found the man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No names were released.
