EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — An Everett, Wash., judge has ordered that a man accused of sending threatening emails to Gov. Chris Gregoire should continue to be held on $25,000 bail.

In court papers, Washington State Patrol detectives wrote that they believe the man is “disturbed and delusional.”

Eric W. Moody was arrested Friday for investigation of threats to the governor and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The 38-year-old man is accused of sending threats to the governor’s website on May 20 and May 24. Detectives allege one message read, “I’m going to kill the Governor for real.”

The Daily Herald reports that when detectives initially showed up to talk to the man, he told them he just wanted to take the governor out to dinner to discuss issues.

It’s not clear whether the man is represented by a lawyer.

Patrol spokesman Bob Calkins says the agency must take all threats seriously.
