TOPPENISH, Wash. (AP) — A Yakima sheriff’s car and Toppenish police car were chasing two robbery suspects in a pickup truck Wednesday night when the passenger began firing at the pursuing officers.

No one was hit, but a home in Toppenish was hit.

The chase ended when the pickup overturned and the officers arrested the two men. The sheriff’s office says the Toppenish men are both gang members with criminal histories.

They were jailed in Yakima for investigation of the robbery of a convenience store in Wapato and a drive-by shooting Wednesday night and other possible felony charges.
