In just one day, the 2012 National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive collected more than 1.3 million pounds of nonperishable food in Oregon and Clark County, the Oregon Food Bank Network announced Wednesday. The drive also raised $74,459 in cash.

Nearly 4,000 urban and rural letter carriers throughout Clark County and Oregon joined letter carriers nationwide in collecting food donations from their postal customers on May 12.

The annual drive helps supply the Clark County Food Bank, which is part of the Oregon Food Bank Network.
