Tigers place RHP Fister on 15-day DL

BOSTON (AP) — The Detroit Tigers have placed right-handed pitcher Doug Fister on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday and are planning to promote left-hander Casey Crosby from Triple-A Toledo.

Fister (0-3) last pitched Monday, taking loss against Boston when he allowed six runs and 11 hits in five-plus innings.

The 23-year old Crosby is scheduled to make his major league debut in New York on Friday against the Yankees. He’s 4-2 with a 4.26 ERA for Toledo.
