NEW YORK (AP) — Ballistic Sue and jockey Rosie Napravnik led all the way Friday to pull a 14-1 upset in the $72,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares on the turf at Belmont Park.
Napravnik, who had three wins on the card, guided the 5-year-old to her fourth win in 15 starts. The time was a 1:07.65, less than a second slower than Gantry’s track record of 1:06.87 for 6 furlongs on the grass.
Trained by Gary Contessa, Ballistic Sue beat Considerate by two lengths, paying $30.80, $13 and $8.90. Considerate returned $8.50 and $5.30, while Sunlight Sonata paid $3.30 to show.
