Bribery accusation in Buckley child sex case

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The son of a Buckley city councilman has been accused of bribery.

After Councilman Randy Reed was charged with sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl, Pierce County prosecutors say his 31-year-old son Travis Reed offered the girl’s mother money to drop the case.

The News Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/KiPorp) he’s accused of offering $200 a month until the girl turned 18. The mother refused and called police Travis Reed is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

Randy Reed pleaded not guilty in September to the rape and molestation charges.
