Rockies lose 4 players to outright waivers

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have lost right-handed pitchers Guillermo Moscoso, Zach Putnam and Josh Roenicke along with infielder Tommy Field, who were all claimed off outright waivers.

Moscoso was claimed by Kansas City, Roenicke and Field by Minnesota and Putnam by the Chicago Cubs.

Also, right-handed pitcher Carlos Torres was outrighted off the major league roster. And the Rockies reinstated first baseman Todd Helton and right-handed pitchers Christian Friedrich and Juan Nicasio from the 60-day disabled list. Lastly, the club selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Josh Sullivan.

Moscoso went 3-2 with a 6.12 ERA last season, Roenicke went 4-2 with a 3.25 ERA, Torres was 5-3 with a 5.26 ERA and Putnam made two appearances, not allowing a run in 2 innings. Field played in two games for the Rockies.
