ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Zagora won the $2 million Filly & Mare Turf by three-quarters of a length, extending the streak of long-shot winners at the Breeders’ Cup on Friday.

Sent off at 9-1 odds, Zagora ran 114 miles on the surface under Javier Castellano in 1:59.70 and paid $20.40, $7.80 and $5.

Marketing Mix returned $6 and $3.80, while 9-5 favorite The Fugue from Britain was another half-length back in third and paid $2.80 to show. The Fugue got trapped on the rail.

It was trainer Chad Brown’s second BC win.

Through the day’s first five Breeders’ Cup races at Santa Anita, none of the favorites won.
