Steriti, New Hampshire beat William & Mary 28-25

DURHAM, N.H. (AP) — Nico Steriti scored the game-winning touchdown to rally New Hampshire past William & Mary 28-25 Saturday.

Steriti’s 19-yard touchdown run with 4:14 left gave New Hampshire (8-2, 6-1 Colonial Athletic Association) the final lead. Steriti finished with 106 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

Steriti’s first touchdown from 18-yards out provided the early lead for New Hampshire, 11-7.

Sean Goldrich’s 2-yard touchdown run with 16 seconds remaining in the second quarter helped New Hampshire extend its lead 18-7 at halftime.

William & Mary (2-7, 1-5) stormed back in the second half, tying the game at 18 when Michael Graham found Tre McBride for the 19-yard touchdown and later took the lead 25-21 with six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter on Graham’s 1-yard run.

Steriti’s touchdown made the difference, as the Wildcats’ defense stopped William & Mary for their sixth straight victory.
