ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Undefeated Shanghai Bobby made an early move on the turn and held off a late charge by He’s Had Enough to win by a head in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on Saturday at Santa Anita.

The 2-year-old colt, sent off as the betting favorite, earned his fifth win and stamped himself as the early Kentucky Derby favorite.

Ridden by Rosie Napravnik, Shanghai Bobby covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:44.58 and paid $4.60, $3.40 and $2.60. He’s Had Enough returned $12.60 and $7.40, and Capo Bastone paid $5 to show.

Napravnik joins Julie Krone as the only female jockeys to win a Breeders’ Cup race. Shanghai Bobby raced for the first time without Lasix, a diuretic that was banned by the Breeders’ Cup from all 2-year-old races.
