The Citadel’s Robinson, Miller run over Elon 38-24

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Darian Robinson rushed for 178 yards and one touchdown, Aaron Miller scored twice on the ground and The Citadel defeated Elon 38-24 in a Southern Conference game Saturday.

Ben Dupree ran for 104 yards and one score as the Bulldogs (5-4, 4-3) totaled 366 yards rushing.

The Citadel snapped a four-game losing streak to Elon and remained in the hunt for a berth in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

Robinson’s 178 yards were a career high and his sixth 100-yard game of the season.

Miller’s 51-yard touchdown pass to Matt Thompson came on the final play of the second quarter, giving The Citadel a 24-6 halftime advantage.

Thomas Wilson was 27-of-50 passing for 351 yards and two scores for Elon (3-6, 1-5). Elon rushed for 52 yards; The Citadel passed for 59.

The Bulldogs’ Thomas Warren hit a career-long 47-yard field goal in the second quarter.
