Elections office: Don’t allow others to deliver your ballot

Clark County Elections Department is warning voters against giving their ballot to anyone who promises to deliver it for them.

Elections Supervisor Tim Likness said on Monday that he received reports of people impersonating elections officials, going door-to-door and offering to collect and deliver people’s ballots. One report described a man wearing a T-shirt with the words: “official ballot chaser,” Likness said.

The elections department does not send employees to pick up ballots, Likness said. He advised voters to deliver their ballots today to one of 34 deposit boxes throughout the county.

All drop box locations are listed on Page A2 of Tuesday’s Columbian, and available on the elections department’s website.
