Symposium targets job seekers in technology fields

The Southwest Washington and Portland Metro ProSTEP Connect symposium will be Nov. 16 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Doors open at 7:30 a.m; sessions are 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Designed for job seekers looking for careers in software, information technology and high-tech manufacturing, the symposium will offer interactive sessions and panels featuring expertise from industry insiders, talent management professionals and job search experts. It is sponsored by the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council, Worksystems Inc. and Workforce Investment Council of Clackamas County.

The symposium is partially funded by the Professional Skills Training and Employment project, a combination of three federal grants totaling nearly $11 million awarded to the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council and other regional workforce organizations.
