PITTSBURGH (AP) — Will Fiacchi passed for one touchdown and ran for a second to lead Albany (NY) over Duquesne 38-31 Saturday in Northeast Conference action.

The Great Danes (8-2, 6-1), who scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to open a 35-7 halftime lead, had to withstand a comeback by Duquesne (5-5, 3-4). The Dukes, behind quarterback Sean Patterson, scored three touchdowns in the second half.

Patterson passed for two of them, a 22-yarder to Gianni Carter early in the third quarter and a 10-yarder to Sean Brady late in the fourth. In between, Patterson rushed for a 4-yard touchdown himself. But Brady’s touchdown catch came with just 11 seconds left. Too little, too late.

Albany had an overwhelming advantage in rushing yardage, 309-68. Four Great Danes each ran for a touchdown, including Drew Smith, who gained 143 yards. Larry McCoy ran for one touchdown and led Duquesne with 69 yards rushing.
