Bolt The Duer wins Messenger Stakes

YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) — Bolt The Duer won the $415,820 Messenger Stakes on Saturday night at Yonkers Raceway, beating Pet Rock by a half-length in the third leg of Pacing’s Triple Crown for 3-year-olds.

Driven by Mark MacDonald, Bolt The Duer paced a mile in 1:51:2 and returned $6 to win.

Hillbilly Hanover was third.

Pet Rock won the Art Rooney Pace in June at Yonkers, breaking the track and stakes record.
