Coastal Carolina clobbers Presbyterian 65-7

CLINTON, S.C. (AP) — Aramis Hillary passed for five touchdowns and Coastal Carolina scored 22 points in each of the first two quarters in a 65-7 rout of Presbyterian Saturday.

The Chanticleers (6-4, 4-1 Big South) won their fourth straight game with ease. Hillary, who missed the previous game due to injury, completed 19 of 22 passes for 261 yards. Five different receivers caught touchdown passes. Matt Hazel had two, and Kenny Jones, David Duran and DeMario Bennett one apiece. Bennett’s touchdown catch was a 50-yarder.

Coastal Carolina outrushed Presbyterian (2-8, 0-5) 365-163. Marcus Whitener gained 143 of those yards and scored twice, one touchdown coming on a 61-yarder.

Niccolo Mastromatteo also returned a punt 87 yards for a Chanticleers touchdown.

Presbyterian’s only touchdown came through the air. Kaleb Griffin threw a 56-yard scoring pass to Jordan Hallums early in the second quarter.
