Vancouver will salute all those who have served our country Sunday in the annual Veterans Day ceremony at the Post Cemetery.

The ceremony starts at 11 a.m. The cemetery is on the north side of Fourth Plain Boulevard, opposite the Clark County Public Health center on the Veterans Affairs campus.

Speakers will include Oregon Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Bruce W. Prunk; Col. Peter F. Norseth, commander of the 2nd Brigade, 95th Division, based at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in east Vancouver; state Sen. Ann Rivers, R-La Center; and Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt.

Larry Smith, Vancouver city councilor and retired U.S. Army colonel, will host the Veterans Day event. Smith and Dan Tarbell are chairmen of the Community Military Appreciation Committee, which is presenting the program.

After the ceremony, author and historian Jeff Davis will guide tours of the cemetery, and will discuss the contributions of some of the soldiers buried there.
