Camas soccer and football fans spent the day at Doc Harris Stadium, and the Papermakers didn’t disappoint.

Ninty minutes of soccer settled nothing between the Camas and Mead girls. Courtney Loewen, Emily Ponce and Rachel Gibson netted three goals for the Papermakers in the shootout, and Lauren Rood blocked three shots by Mead. Camas is going to be playing in the final four of the state tournament next weekend, their first year in 4A.

The Papermaker football machine capped off the festival with a 62-6 wrecking of Arlington. John Norcross delivered two goal line rushes into the end zone behind his bulldozing offensive linemen. Vince Huber had three touchdown runs to go with an interception return to the end zone. Nate Beasley added two touchdown runs and an interception.

Big things happened for Camas away from Doc Harris. The girls cross country team captured second place at the Nike Cross National Northwest Regional in Boise. Alexa Efraimson earned third place, Alissa Pudlitzke placed 13th, Megan Napier notched 29th, Maddie Woodson grabbed 36th and Camille Parsons claimed 45th. The Papermakers will race at the NXN Nationals Saturday, Dec. 1, at Portland Meadows.

The Camas volleyball team defeated Union in five sets and Puyallup in three games to finish in fifth place at the state tournament.

Read more about these accomplishments in Tuesday’s print edition of the Post-Record.

See you on the sidelines.
