TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State’s top quarterbacks are often remembered for engineering memorable wins.

EJ Manuel is now a part of the conversation.

Manuel led a 68-yard drive that resulted in a 28-22 last-minute win Thursday at Virginia Tech to keep the 10th-ranked Seminoles’ Atlantic Coast Conference championship hopes alive.

Manuel was sacked five times, had the wind knocked out of him twice but didn’t flinch against Virginia Tech’s pressure. The Hokies had stopped the Seminoles running game cold before Manuel hit Rashad Greene with a 39-yard touchdown pass with 40 seconds to play.

Florida State (9-1, 6-1 ACC) can clinch the Atlantic Division and a berth in the Dec. 1 league championship game with a win at Maryland (4-6, 2-4) on Saturday.
