NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Ai Miyazato of Japan felt as if she couldn’t miss Friday until her final putt dropped for an 8-under 64 and a one-shot lead in the season-ending Titleholders.

Miyazato, who already has won twice this year, overcame a sloppy bogey on the par-5 second hole by making four birdies in a five-hole stretch to close out the front nine. She added four birdies on the back nine for the low round of the tournament, giving her a one-shot lead over U.S. Women’s Open champion Na Yeon Choi.

Sun Young Yoo, in a three-way tie for the lead to start the second round, was two shots behind until she was assessed a one-shot penalty for not raising her arm high enough on a drop at the 14th hole.
