CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jake Ryan’s four touchdown passes — three to Devin Stark — helped Austin Peay build a 31-point halftime lead before edging Tennessee Tech 38-31 Saturday.

Ryan (27 of 38, 310 yards) threw a 38-yard touchdown to Jamaar Embry, and Ean Pemberton’s 16-yard TD run made it 14-0 Austin Peay (2-9, 1-7). Ryan’s two short scoring passes to Stark sandwiched a Stephen Stansell field goal for a 31-0 halftime lead.

Doug Page ran for a 1-yard touchdown for Tennessee Tech (3-8, 1-7 Ohio Valley Conference), but Ryan’s 23-yard strike to Stark made it 38-7. The Eagles rallied, Darian Stone tossed a 6-yard scoring pass to Da’Rick Rogers. Page scored a 1-yard TD in the fourth quarter, and Neil Gannaway’s 20-yard touchdown reception and Zach Sharp’s field goal made it 38-31 with 2:12 left.

Tennessee Tech recovered an onside kick at the Governors’ 45, but turned the ball over on downs.
