Holy Cross Cross upsets Georgetown 24-0

WASHINGTON (AP) — Gerald Mistretta caught two touchdown passes and ran for a third score as Holy Cross ended a five-game losing streak with a 24-0 shutout of Georgetown on Saturday.

Mistretta, who had five receptions for 78 yards, opened the scoring by catching a 29-yard touchdown pass from Ryan McLaughlin. After a scoreless second quarter, Mistretta scored again, this time on a 2-yard run. A 19-yard field goal by John Macomber made it 17-0.

In the fourth quarter, Mistretta scored again on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Steven Elder. Elder was 7 for 10 passing for 79 yards. Laughlin, meanwhile, completed 12 of 15 passing attempts for 85 yards.

Holy Cross (2-9) surprised Georgetown (5-6, 2-3) to win its second Patriot League victory. The Crusaders amassed 345 total yards to just 196 for the Hoyas. Holy Cross rushed for 181 yards to only 101 for Georgetown.
