Nevada’s last second 3 beats Green Bay 71-69

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Deonte Burton capped off his stellar performance for Nevada with a clutch 3-point basket with 2 seconds remaining to give the Wolf Pack a thrilling 71-69 victory over Green Bay at the World Vision Classic on Saturday night.

Seconds earlier, Alec Brown hit a 3-pointer for Green Bay to give the Phoenix a 69-68 lead with 11 seconds left, but Burton’s 3-pointer stole the show, giving him a game-high 19 points.

Other top scorers for Nevada (2-1) included Marqueze Coleman who had 11 points including a 5 for 6 effort at the free-throw line in 13 minutes off the bench. Devonte Elliott had 10 points and seven rebounds.

For Green Bay (2-1), four players scored in double figures with Brennan Cougill scoring 16 points and recording five rebounds and two assists. Kam Cerroni had 16 points, Brown had 12 points and seven rebounds while Keifer Sykes chipped in with 11.
