CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Cordarius Johnson scored 16 points and Raheem Appleby added 15 to help Louisiana Tech race to a 21-point halftime lead and beat Troy 70-46 Sunday.

Following an Appleby 3-pointer that put Louisiana Tech ahead 6-2, Troy tied the game behind two free throws from Antoine Myers and a 3-pointer from Hunter Williams.

But Troy (1-2) would never overtake the Bulldogs, as Louisiana Tech used a 14-2 run to go ahead 21-9 following a Johnson 3-pointer. Johnson then scored 10 of Louisiana Tech’s next 18 points to help the Bulldogs take a 39-18 halftime lead.

Louisiana Tech (2-1) opened the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers to push its lead to 47-18.

The Bulldogs outshot Troy 42.3 percent (22 of 52) to 30 percent (15 of 50) and outrebounded the Trojans 42-30.

Westley Hinton scored 12 points for Troy, which managed just five team assists, compared to 17 for Louisiana Tech.
